Candy.ai: what it costs, what it refuses, and how you leave

Candy.ai is the most-searched of the twelve AI companion apps we track, and one of six with a localised UI — thirteen languages, widest after Kupid.ai. That explains search visibility — not whether it is worth the money.

Three practical questions decide: how fast free ends, what still costs after purchase, and how easy exit is. On all three Candy.ai is clearer than the industry average, and on one it is stricter than the ads suggest.

The free account ends after five messages

The vendor help center is unusually plain: free users may send five messages in total, create one character, and generate one image. The five messages cover all characters together, not per character — try three characters and the fifth line empties the pool.

The terms confirm the same number. That matters because many vendors in this category publish no number at all and the limit only appears in chat.

No card is required for free. An email address is enough.

What the plan costs — and what still adds on

Three public terms: 13.99 $/month, 26.97 $ for three months, 47.88 $ for a year. All three auto-renew at the same price.

More important than the base price is the second currency. Premium includes 100 tokens/month, and tokens bill everything beyond text: images, video, voice messages, calls, custom characters. Only writing is unlimited. Regular image use means buying more. Help mentions a Premium Plus tier with 330 tokens/month, without a price.

The pricing-page source also hides weekly and biweekly charges not offered in the menu. We do not list them as plans because they are not publicly bookable — but if checkout shows them, you know where they came from.

The rules: marketed “uncensored”, with eight hard exceptions

Candy.ai openly markets adult content and generates it. At the same time its own policy fully bans eight categories, including depictions resembling minors, non-consensual content, deepfakes, and celebrity lookalikes. Minimum age is 18.

Reading “uncensored” as “everything allowed” disappoints here — and that applies to every app in this overview, not only this one.

Discretion when paying

Billing runs on card, bank, crypto, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. The vendor says the charge appears under a neutral merchant name. That is a manufacturer claim, not a fact we verified — we have not seen a statement.

Anyone who wants no shared-card line finds the bank-free path in crypto.

How you cancel

The plan can end anytime — in-account under “My Profile” → “Settings” → “Unsubscribe”; deleting the account before renewal also ends it. Whether access lasts to the paid term end, the vendor does not say. On cancel, leftover tokens expire at once and do not carry over.

Refunds only within 24 hours of payment, only on card, and only if ≤20 tokens were used. EU and UK buyers get, per Candy.ai’s own terms, 14 days’ withdrawal without stating a reason.
